Handmade NW's OHSU Holiday Bazaar

Tomorrow I'll be participating in Handmade NW's OHSU Holiday Bazaar. It's located at the Center for Health and Healing at 3303 SW Bond St. near the base of the Tram (in Portland). The event runs from 10am to 5:30pm, Wed. November 30th. 10% of all proceeds will be given to the Heart Research Center, so you can do a little Holiday shopping and contribute to a great cause at the same time!

I've been sewing like crazy to prepare for my upcoming shows. I'll be well stocked with Mitts for Musing handwarmers

I just finished a commission for a couple of monsters. I stretched myself with this project, tried some new things. They are designed to hang on the wall. I like how they turned out. Pretty Goofy!

Lewis Elementary Holiday Bazaar

I have my first holiday show of the season this Saturday! It's the Lewis Elementary School Holiday Bazaar. It will be from 10am-4pm, November 5. Located at 4401 SE Evergreen Street in Portland. It's my first year with this show, and I've heard great things about it. A nice plus is that they've made an arrangement to accept credit cards for all of the vendors. You can find out a bit more info. at this website.
Meanwhile, I'm busily sewing away, amidst the moving into my new studio space! Yes, it's hectic, but fun.

A Good Day

I'd like to extend a huge Thank You to all who stopped by my booth at this weekend's Alberta Street Fair. Seeing your smiles and positive reactions to my work feeds my spirit! For those of you who made purchases, thank you for making this my best Fair ever in Portland!

Pigeon was a custom order, but she received so much attention that I will be exploring Plush bird-making in the future. 

My plans for now are to move my studio from its current location in a smallish bedroom, to the upstairs of our house, giving me twice the workspace. This will involve moving the entire contents of four rooms of our house, plus some carpet removal and painting. Yeesh! It's a looming task, but it'll be wonderful in the end. 

I'll also be busy at the sewing machine replenishing my stock of Mitts for Musing and bringing more Plush creations to life, but for today it's relaxing in the blueberry field and garden, and an afternoon brewski in our new garden-viewing lounge area.

And the Winner Is...

I had fun last week entering some of my work in the Columbia County Fair. I was able to enter in several different categories: Hobbies, Textiles, and Sculpture. 

Here's a photo of everything I entered, prize ribbons atached.

I got the high-point award in the Sculpture category with these soft-sculptures. I received a special plaque and some award money donated by Michael Curry Design, a local (large) puppet-making company.
